This is Cadbury's latest advert, following the drumming gorillas and the eyebrow- dancing children, with the new concept of a chocolate charmer, a man who possesses a magical approach to making chocolate.
The magical world of cadbury's! They certainly do like to link their brand to music! They have had the playing, the dancing and now the conduction what will be next.

The Beauty Myth
A great book by Naomi Wolf.
Naomi Wolf examines beauty as a demand and judgement upon women. Referring to beauty as an imprisonment of how women are trapped or trap themselves into a cruel ritual of trying to achieve the ideal beauty. Women feel they must desire to become the ideal women so men desire them but this is in fact an hallucination of media manipulation.
Every woman should read this book, I recommend it!

The Venetain Blind Sunglasses from 1966 but stylish and useful I think not. Lady Gaga will be sure to bring back these unjustly forsaken invention, you just have to look at her glasses in her music video Telephone.
A rainy day cigarette holder! Just look at the elegant little umbrella over the man's smoke!

Marmite election
I love the marmite love it or hate it concept with its controversial campaign at the moment where they are seeing whether: Is the UK a nation of lovers or haters of marmite? I am a hater myself of which I have joined, The Marmite hate party on face book. Election day is 29th April so don't forget to vote folks.
So the brand being a brand icon, its no doubt the shape of the jar is instantly recognisable. You wouldn't even need the word marmite on the jar as with the yellow lid and shape its easily identifiable. An interesting fact which I found was: The name Marmite comes from the French cooking pot pronounced 'mar-meet' which is pictured on the front of every jar. Hence, this is where the shape design of the jar comes from!

Vivienne Westwood
Vivienne Westwood adverts always capture my attention.
They are so eccentric and out there. I mean Vivienne sitting on a dust bin who would have thought you would see the day. I can see the idea behind it know though and I know Vivienne has been spreading her anti- consumerism and pro-green beliefs for years.

Ok so Im a massive Robert Pattinson and Twilight fan when I first heard he was starting in a new film 'Remember Me' I knew it would be a must see.
It certainly delivered with a bombshell of and ending. An American romantic drama film directed by Allen Coulter. Set in New York city all about young love flourishing amid sadness and loss. The story ends on September 11th 2001 in New York which to me just underlines the loss making reference to the films title. With Robert Pattinson's character getting caught in the 9/11 and all those who cared about him viewing the tragic event. It really makes you reflect on life itself.

Dr Martens
I am always intrigued to see what Dr Martens are up to, I just love this brand! This year I was brought a pair of DM's :) thanks to the snow my mum realised I needed a pair of boots that were going to keep me stable!
Their advertising has certainly had a face lift over the years.Dr Martens latest campaign marks the brands 50th anniversary, celebrating their rich association with fashion, culture and music. Since the early stages guitarist Pete Townshend initiated Dr Martens connection with rock and roll music. Youthful rebellion soon became embodied in the boots, as a fashion statement. The skinheads later adopted Dr Martens along with punk and new wave movements.
Dr Martens are a key fashion trend with many retail stores having their own versions of the boot. As the brand has become an icon with its huge success is it as risk of becoming generic, i ask?
As part of the latest campaign 10 contemporary artists have recorded classic tracks. Injecting the brand back into the music scene. I have confidence the brand will never become generic while others imitate the product the brand has such a rich heritage that no other brand can copy. This latest campaign truly reminds consumers what the brand means and stands for. Not only featuring the tracks and videos online they offer behind the scenes footage and photographs of the artists, along with documentaries of the brands history. The New Faces
This is unquestionably an exhibition to go and see! Running until 29 April at The Book Club, the exhibition show cases a collection of images by photographer Dean Chalkley. These images take a look at a group of young Mods, of which Chalkley was intrigued by their sharp dressing and enviable dancing skills. The individuals show real pride in how they present themselves sharing a passion for music, they certainly have the moves!
The Mod subculture is a vast interest of mine, looking back at one of the paramount youths in history. Originated in London in the 1950s, significant elements of the mod culture include the fashion of tailored made suits and the Italian motor scooters. A beatnik culture that appears to still live on today.
